Statements of Faith

The Scriptures, as found in both the Old and New Testaments, serve as our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. All members are expected to subscribe to the following.

The Apostles’ Creed (Old Roman Creed)

I believe in God almighty and in Christ Jesus, his only Son, our Lord. Who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary. Who was crucified under Pontius Pilate and was buried and the third day rose from the dead. Who ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father whence he comes to judge the living and the dead. And in the Holy Ghost, the holy church, the remission of sins, the resurrection of the flesh, the life everlasting.

The Nicene Creed (A.D. 381)

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of the Father before all the ages, God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not made, of one substance with the Father, through whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was made flesh of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man, and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and ascended into the heavens, and sits on the right hand of the Father, and comes again with glory to judge the living and dead, of whose kingdom there shall be no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and the Life-giver, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and Son is worshiped together and glorified together, who spoke through the prophets.

And in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism unto remission of sins. We look for a resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.

Evangelical Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
